The beaches of the Bukit Peninsula are only minutes away by car or bike from the house.
Bali's most popular surfing beaches are only a matter of minutes away to the west of the house. Dreamland has become quite commercialised over the past few years. There is a golf course and a water park near Dreamland. The water park is smaller than Waterbom Park in Kuta and is ideal for toddlers and children under 10.
The beaches to the south and west of the house are protected by a reef. Even at high tide the water is quite shallow. The are very few currents in the water at these beaches and they are by far the safest for children.
Access to the beach at Pandawa, on the southern tip of the peninsula, has only been possible in the last few years after a road was constructed through an old quarry. The sand is fine white sand that Australians love. The water in the lagoon is shallow and safe for toddlers. There are restaurants but it is not crowded. It is interesting watching the fishermen and women collecting seaweed for the Japanese market.
